Unveiled at the Google I/O 2024 conference, this system, still in the testing phase, uses Artificial Intelligence to detect fraudsters during a conversation. The “AI will constantly search for conversation patterns commonly associated with scams.” Once such a pattern is identified, you will receive a real-time alert on your phone, dispelling any fears that the person on the other end of the call is a fraudster.
Take the example of a so-called “bank representative” asking for personal information such as PIN codes and passwords. These requests being unusual, the AI would detect them and alert you. Everything happens on the device, thus preserving your privacy.
Gradual Deployment Planned
This feature will not be immediately available on Android 15, and the company plans to share more details later in the year. We already know that users will have to choose to use this tool.
