Amazon Music Innovates with Maestro
Following in Spotify’s footsteps, Amazon Music has recently introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered feature called Maestro. Currently in beta phase, it is only available to a small number of users in the United States, using the app on iOS and Android.
Natural Language and Artificial Intelligence
Upon exploring the latest version of the app, the Maestro icon will be noticed by these lucky users. This technological innovation goes far beyond simple playlist creation. It allows, through the use of natural language prompts, to create a personalized playlist according to the user’s desires. These instructions can be based on emotions, activities, sounds, or even emojis.
Maestro Features
For example, “Make a playlist that sounds like the robot emoji”, or “Create an uplifting tune for my baby”, are instructions that Maestro is capable of processing. However, let’s not forget that the tool is still in beta and it may not find the perfect response on the first request. Nevertheless, Amazon specifies that security measures have been implemented to prevent offensive or inappropriate instructions.
Widespread Rollout Planned
If currently only a few privileged users can use Maestro, Amazon plans to gradually roll it out to a larger number of users. Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers can immediately listen to and save playlists created with Maestro, and even share them. However, for Prime members and users of the free version, they can only listen to 30-second previews of their playlists before saving them.
As a reminder, Spotify recently launched a similar feature for its Premium members, named AI Playlist. It seems that the future of music lies in artificial intelligence.
