“When science and art come together, wonders can be achieved”: this is the philosophy of the World Nature Photography Awards, a global photography contest dedicated to wildlife. For International Day for Biodiversity, Futura has chosen to celebrate the best nature photographs in the world, highlighting the richness of life on Earth and raising awareness for their preservation.
International Day for Biodiversity was established in 1993 by the United Nations to raise awareness among Earth’s citizens about the wealth of life forms that inhabit it. This can be achieved through art, particularly photography, as beautifully demonstrated by the World Nature Photography Awards, whose mission is to reward the best nature photographers while showcasing the beauty they capture through their lenses. Here is our selection of the gold medalists in 2024.
