Two Arch-Enemies of Hulk to Make an Appearance in 2025, No Showdown in Sight

Captain America: Brave New World will bring back some classic adversaries of Hulk.

Return of Hulk’s Antagonists in the MCU

The MCU will see the return of two major antagonists of Hulk in the movie Captain America: Brave New World. However, the green-skinned giant, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo, will probably not face them. Despite Mark Ruffalo portraying Bruce Banner, the genius physicist, and his alter ego Hulk in several MCU films, he has never had a solo movie.

New Familiar Faces

Captain America: Brave New World will feature two significant villains from the Hulk universe. General Ross and The Leader will make a comeback on the big screen, with the probable return of Betty Ross, Bruce Banner’s love interest. Despite the uncertainty of a solo Hulk film, these classic characters from Hulk’s mythology are indeed back.

Charismatic Villains

The film will focus on Sam Wilson as the new Captain America and has already hinted at the casting of Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and the return of Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader. Despite his status as an anti-hero and occasional villain, General Ross will work with Sam Wilson to rebuild the Avengers in Captain America: Brave New World.

A Notable Absence

Unfortunately, although two classic Hulk villains are confirmed to join the cast of Captain America: Brave New World, Hulk is nowhere to be found. The MCU has faced criticism from comic book fans for downplaying Hulk’s tragic story and dark character in favor of a more comedic presence.

What Do We Think?

It’s disappointing to see Hulk, an iconic character in the Marvel universe, left out in the MCU. While the return of his classic adversaries is exciting news for Hulk fans, Hulk’s absence itself is a significant miss. Hopefully, the MCU will eventually give Hulk the spotlight he deserves in his own solo adventure.
